New Home Emergency Assistance Product Launches in Ireland

Ireland’s 1.6 million householders can now insure their homes against the cost of arranging emergency repairs, for burst water pipes, broken down boilers or even blocked drains.

Allianz Global Assistance Ireland is teaming up with the National Guild of Master Craftsmen to launch a new Home Emergency Assistance Policy for Irish homeowners and landlords of residential properties.
The annual premium for the new ‘National Guild of Master Craftsmen Home Emergency Assistance’ policy is one of the lowest in the market, priced at €43.99 for the year and insures homeowners and residential landlords against the cost of arranging emergency repairs following damage.

In the event of a home emergency, such as a broken down boiler or a tree-damaged roof, an approved tradesman from the National Guild of Master Craftsmen will be organised to carry out emergency repairs. The Guild has over 7,500 members, including fully qualified plumbers, electricians, roofers and boiler repairers and the emergency telephone line is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The tradesman’s fees will then be paid directly by the insurers, up to the policy limits of €300 per home emergency. The new insurance product is sold through Sean G. Cusack Insurance and can be bought on-line through www.nationalguild.ie.

While the policy does not cover all possible events and expenses, typical home emergencies might include boiler breakdowns, burst pipes, blocked drains, damage to the roof during adverse weather conditions or damage to windows and doors. Most property types can be covered, including apartments, semi-detached houses and terraced homes.

Launching the new product, Roland Hesse from Allianz Global Assistance Ireland, said: “This is a new low cost product for the Irish marketplace, providing reassurance, added security and peace of mind for homeowners and landlords of residential properties, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. By working in close partnership with the National Guild of Master Craftsmen, we are able to offer homeowners access to a network of over 7,500 highly skilled and accredited Guild members, insuring homeowners against the cost of arranging emergency repairs.”
